Our 60ft Sunstar and Horizon Houseboat Cruisers are powered along easily by 2 inboard/outdrive 4 cylinder GAS Mercruisers. Alpha 1 Drives hang down approx 1 ft from the bottom of the boat – which gives the boats a 3.5ft draft.
Drive engine Gas consumption mostly depends on rpm, with weight and balance a deciding factor also. At cruising speed of 9mph, 3-4 GPH PER ENGINE is an appropriate estimate.
Our 12.5kw Westerbeke Generators have handled all sorts of loads – including 5 piece rock bands and electric health devices.
The Air conditioning units are a standard household unit – and when on the genset burns upwards of 2 GPH. Winter Months will make the generator burn less fuel as there is not a lot of heat needed down here! We provide the initial tank of gas, 10 extra gallons, Tow ropes for PWCs or other boats and a toolkit. To see what supplies you should bring, browse our INFO section
