When our cool weather comes and the water temperature drops into ‘chilly’, the manatee swims to the protection of our springs. The natural springs maintain a constant temperature of 72 degrees and these large ‘sea cows’ will spend the winters here. It is very common to see these amazing mammals, which are on the endangered species list, frolicking with their young in the crystal clear waters. Here are some photos we took last winter.
